Redback International #4 Report

RBI4 was another huge success with a record field taking to the felt. There were some adjustments to the format this month which made for an even better event than usual with the average stack not having less than 20BB for the whole tournament. A real credit to the team at Redback Poker!

The first player out for the day was “jbx311” from the Parramatta region, with “jp1414” from Sydney City taking bubble honours. After 5 hours of play the final table was formed with the chip stacks as follows;

Name  Chips (K) Region
daggymax 101 Newcastle
koolkat86 103 Parramatta
ebbitu 141 South Australia
braddo1600 195 Newcastle
ginoc 240 Seattle Poker Open
Rumple4 242 Eastern Suburbs
kribby 406 Shire
OnlySic$Moa 420 Sydney
ROYTRUDGEY 75 Tasmania
MrsFrothyTop 98 Tasmania

Without a doubt, the story of the day belonged to “Rumple4” who not only succeeded in making his 2nd consecutive final table, but also manage to finish in 2nd position back to back. What a great effort! After eliminating 4 players at the final table, Rumple found himself in an extremely strong position, but once again fell one step short of maximum glory.

It was “braddo1600” from Newcastle who was to spoil the party, claiming the title after a succession of premium hands heads up. Known as one of the tightest players on the local circuit “braddo1600” proved that patience is a virtue when it comes to getting the chips in the middle with the best of it. Braddo’s day was not without luck though when he got his 99 in against 3rd place finisher “kribby” (1010)from the Shire. When the 9 rained down on the flop, “kribby” was left crippled but none the less picked up a very handy 3rd place.

It was another strong finish for team Tasmania with 2 final tablists, and a special mention to “ebbitu” from South Australia who made her 2nd final table appearance.

Team Coffs Harbour made their debut this month with 2 players cashing. Congratulations to googs1983 (17th) and LilPokerPro (30th).
