The chip count going in to the final table was as follows;
The first player to fall was BScriebs when he got his money in with AsJs V DodgyPlaya01’s AJo. Statistically the suited hand would have a slight edge, but not this time as DodgyPlaya luckboxed a four card to a flush and subsequently eliminated BScriebs. Next to go was Dutchy77. He was all in with 55 against the A3 of chemical63. Things didn’t look good for Dutchy77 as chemical63 hadn’t lost a race since his little athletics days, and this trend continued as the ace rained down on the river. The good news for Dutchy77 was that there was no 2 hour drive up the F3 freeway following his 3 outer defeat. Dana200 from the Parramatta Region was next to be eliminated and once again chemical63 was the assassin. On a flop of KJ6 all the chips found the middle with Dana200 showing KQ and chemical63 pocket 6’s. The miracle runner runner didn’t come and Dana200 was eliminated in 8th position. Rumour has it that Dana200 has undergone some poker coaching of late and it sure seems to be paying off! In what would be one of the biggest pots of the event, murrayfish and madz89 would go head to head. All in pre flop, murrayfish rolled QQ up against madz90’s AdJd. The flop came Kd Jc 3d, turn 10s, with the river Js – trip jacks sends early chip leader murrayfish to the rail. DodgyPlaya01 is the self proclaimed best player in Tasmania and he lived up to that reputation on Saturday outlasting all of his Tasmanian team mates. Unfortunately for DodgyPlaya01 a semi brain snap saw him get his money in with 67 V KQ. When a Q hit on the flop, it was goodnight for DodgyPlaya01 and a chip up for flaminaces. Shireling nursed a short stack for most of the final table and did very well to survive. His luck ran horrible when his K10 was run down by the K6 of 77Macca77 when the 6 hit on the turn. Shireling was eliminated in 5th position. The remaining 4 players would receive prizes over the US$1,000 mark. Player “flaminaces” has secured the title of South Australia’s best player (for the next month anyway) after rallying to a top 4 finish. She got her money in with 9 10 on a board of 98K only to run in to 77Macca77’s K10. With no improvement, flaminaces was eliminated in 4th position. Finishing in 3rd place was Newcastle’s luckiest player 77Macca77 – aka “The Sprinkler”. 77Macca77 produced the 2nd brain snap at the final table when he was caught pants down with 45o V J6o on a board of JA92A. All the money went in after the river, and a great call by chemical63 saw the last of the Novocastrians eliminated. Heads up saw the undefeated chemical63 take on the Central Coast’s finest in Madz89. At one stage Madz89 had a 2-1 chip lead, but that wasn’t enough to stop the momentum and the inaugural RBI tittle heading to the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. The final hand saw chemical63 call madz89’s all in with AJ V 22. The board ran out KTJT4 which handed victory to the unstoppable chemical63. Final standings were as follows;

The inaugural RBI kicked off with a bang on Saturday with a strong field of 199 players in attendance. It was only after 5 hours of play that the final table would be formed and the serious business commenced. Unfortunately for Oz Poker Tour veteran Lance Roulston, his dreams would be short lived eliminated first hand.
